What we do
Our work brings philosophy, technology, politics and art into youth learning. Questions about freedom and power turn up in everyday life: in the news we trust, the decisions an algorithm makes for us, or the pressure to fit in. We want time to examine them together.
That means discussion, making things and trying ideas out. A project might explore mental health through art, ask how AI changes our choices, or use science fiction to think about the future. People bring different experiences and can disagree. An argument should be open to questions, including our own.
Our exchanges and training use non-formal learning: workshops, group work, experiments and the practical experience of spending time with people from other countries. We want participants to have a say in that work and to find something they can use when they get home.
In our work
Our approach
Room to disagree
We discuss politics, identity and the way society works. We ask people to give reasons for their views, listen carefully and leave room to change their minds.
Technology has consequences
AI and digital tools interest us for what they make possible and for the power they give some people over others. We look at who makes the decisions, whose data is used and who can question the result.
Art opens a conversation
A film, a performance or an imagined future can give a difficult question a form we can work with. We use creative work to explore experiences and ideas that are hard to put into words.
Participation takes work
An invitation alone does not make participation possible. Language, money, confidence and previous experience affect who gets involved. These are things to consider when planning a project and listening to the group.
Exchanges, training & partnerships
Ways to take part
YE Youth exchanges
We bring young people from different countries together around a question or theme. The programme includes workshops, discussion and creative work, with participants taking part in the learning process. Each call explains the dates, age range and conditions.
TC Training courses
International training gives youth workers and facilitators time to test methods and compare how they work. Topics in our project archive include AI, environmental education and the arts. Each course has its own requirements.
CO Partnerships
We are interested in partners who want to work on a question together and share responsibility for the project. Write to us with the topic, who you want to involve and what you have in mind. An idea does not need to be a finished application.
