Training Course
25.04-02.05.2025.

Brezice, Croatia

Objectives

The training course “AI in Youth Work: Empowering Young Minds” was created to help youth workers, educators, and trainers build a solid foundation in artificial intelligence and explore how it can be applied in youth work.
Its goals were to provide participants with a clear understanding of what AI is and how it can be used in education. To develop digital literacy and critical thinking by introducing AI tools and methods. To spark creativity and innovation in youth work through AI-powered approaches. To explore the ethical aspects of AI, such as data bias and responsible use. To support participants in creating action plans for applying AI within their own organizations. To foster cross-border cooperation among youth workers interested in STEM and digital transformation.

Results

During the course, participants engaged with AI through practical exercises, simulations, and group work that made complex ideas feel manageable and applicable. They tested tools that can be used directly in youth projects—from AI-powered creativity platforms to data-based decision-making apps—gaining first-hand experience in how to bring these technologies into their work.

The ethical dimension of AI was a major focus. Discussions tackled questions of transparency, bias, and social responsibility, encouraging participants to think critically about how technology intersects with power and equity. These conversations helped deepen awareness and laid the foundation for more informed and inclusive practice.

By the end of the training, participants were not just informed—they were ready to act. Many left with ideas for follow-up projects, new methods to test with their youth groups, and a stronger sense of confidence in navigating the evolving world of AI. New partnerships were formed, new knowledge shared, and a vision was built—one where youth work and AI evolve together to serve young people better.
